NAWBO CHAMPAGNE RECEPTION February 2013

LOUISA VOISINE MILLINERY hosted the NAWBO February mixer at the millinery showroom.
Everyone had a grand time visiting with current members and meeting new members of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN BUSINESS OWNERS.

Mrs. Carmeline O. Pellerin

Chapeau designs flow freely within my mind and each one I design is given the name of a Lady. Rarely is there an occasion when a name of someone special I have known personally doesn't come to mind. When the name does it always seems to be the perfect personality for the design.

On one occasion one design simply did not have a name come to mind. It just needed that perfect name and it wasn't coming to me.

On my recent trip to Maine I attended a funeral for a friends mother. I never had the privilege of meeting this lady. When I attended a viewing at the funeral home and saw this incredibly elegant woman I gasped. I knew I had found the lady who would have worn this design with crowning glory.

This design has always brought to mind two visions. The first of an angel and the second of a nun.

After learning more about the lady named Carmeline I knew my design had found a fitting name.

Carmeline O. Pellerin was not only elegant and gracious but had the voice of an angel.

She spent her life dedicated to her church, sang Latin masses, was a choir director and composer. She did all this on top of developing music workshops and raising a family.

The funeral service ended with a previously recorded rendition of Rogers & Hammerstein
"Climb Every Mountain" sung by Carmeline in her stage days.
She stared as Mother Abbess in the stage play of the Sound of Music.

As her voice filled the church the emotions flowed just from the sheer beauty of her voice.
The voice of an angel.

When we exited the pew as I turned to leave I saw the nuns in attendance. Carmeline was a life long friend to the nuns.

I am proud to dedicate this chapeau to a lady I never knew but within a few hours had captured my heart.

I would not release this chapeau until it had the proper name.
This design will now go into a private collection for a chapeau collector.

Thank you Carmeline for giving life to this chapeau design.

Raising my glass & Tipping my hat to Ms. Chris

Chris Pirate

As Chris moves into her University years she goes forward with the blessings of her wonderful mother Eloise and her devoted father Bob.

They have raised an amazing young woman any parent would be proud to call their daughter. My blessing has been to have Chris as a friend who has laughed with me over crazy moments, long heart to heart talks on the roof and who has never held back her hugs when she found me in tears.

To Chris I raise my glass and tip my hat for simply being one of the special people that finds their way into your life and you hold onto the memories and embrace the future.
